Library

The library of the Ancient Near Eastern section in Würzburg is located in the south wing of the Residenz, third floor. It houses ca. 20,000 books and allows for immediate access to most of the publications used in studying and researching the ancient Near East. All other specialised libraries related to the stidy of ancient cultures (Egyptology, Comparative Linguistics, Classics, Archaeology, Ancient History) are located in the same building.

The library is open from Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. but is usually accessible in the afternoon as well (please ring the bell). Arrangements can be made for guest researchers and advanced students to have 24-hour access. Students' requests will be given consideration when purchasing new books.
