Date: | 05/27/2021, 6:15 PM - 8:00 PM |
Speaker: | Greta Van Buylaere |
Autumn in the tenth year of Nebuchadnezzar II. The summer grain harvest is over. The quays of Babylon are teeming with activity. Boats travel back and forth with grain deliveries to the palace. Grain that has to be unloaded, checked and measured before it is stored in the local granaries. Documents from the N1 archive, now in Istanbul, provide information about these deliveries, the administration on site, the suppliers and the amount of grain processed in one day.
