DEGUWA – NAS – Course Seminar with Prof. Dr. Bettina Kreuzer in the museum's collection of antiquities.

Collection of Classical Antiquities focuses primarily on ceramics (1500 BC – 300 AD), with a focus on Greek vases from the heyday (560–300 BC). Clay figures, glasses and stone sculptures follow; famous plays include the Greek Actor's Shard and the Roman Altar of the Seasons. In 1989, 2500 objects from the “Kiseleff private collection” came to the museum, contributing a rich selection of Egyptian cabaret and expanding the Greek holdings. The Egyptian mummy portraits are particularly impressive. A rarity are the many well-preserved Coptic fabrics from the fifth to eighth centuries.
